River Kwai

A lot of people takes a one-day trip from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi to see the famous bridge over the river Kwai and the war museeum. The bridge was bombed in 1945 and was rebuilt later. Here you can go by train over the bridge and further on for some hours on the “death railway”.

Listen to the lead song from the movie!

We decided to stay in this area at the river Kwai for a couple of nights and stayed at the River Kwai Jungle Rafts.
The room are small like boathouses and positioned in a row of rafts. This place is really worth a visit.
The whole foundation is taken in care of a village people who belong to the “Mon” people. From the “Jungle Rafts” we took day-trips to narrow waterfalls and caves. Elephant rides are also popular.
