The main reason people travel to Myanmar is to see the old temples in Bagan. We stayed in a hotel called “The Hotel @ Tharabar Gate”. It was located in Old Bagan. The rooms were in Bungalows. The flight from Bagan to Mandalay takes only 30 minutes. When we arrived to the hotel area with our taxi, a security guard is scanning the taxi before we can drive in to the entrance. When we enter into the hotel we had to go through a security portal like the ones at the airports. The hotel is very nice with a splendid service and a beautiful pool area. Our taxi ride from the airport in Yangoon to the “Summit Parkview Hotel” took about 35 min. The taxi driver was a bit annoying, he wanted to sell all kinds of different guide trips to places all over Myanmar.
